STEM W.I.S.E
A 12-Week Engineering Challenge. Real Problems. Real Skills. Real Impact.
STEM WISE is a spring engineering program where students take on real community issues, work as a team, and develop creative, professional solutions with guidance from CTE teachers and industry experts. It’s hands-on, career-focused, and built to expose students to the world of engineering in a way that feels real, not textbook.
What Students Do
-
Choose a local issue from a list created by industry professionals
-
Research, design, and develop a solution using engineering standards
-
Learn public speaking, collaboration, problem-solving, and project planning
-
Compete in a final showcase judged by real engineers and industry leaders
Why It Matters
Many students, especially those from underserved communities, never see what engineering actually looks like. STEM WISE gives them exposure, mentorship, and confidence while building a stronger, more diverse future workforce.
